It is important not to mistake a methadone maintenance programme with a methadone rehab programme. The maintenance programme focuses on long term maintenance of an opiate addiction and often accompanies a harm reduction counselling programme. Rehab will detox from the methadone completely using various, comfortable yet safe methods. I will ensure that the addict remains opiate free by indepth, intensive counselling.
